The Department of Physiology is a core foundational department in the MBBS Phase-I curriculum at SLBSGMCH. It is responsible for teaching the functional basis of human body systems and their seamless integration with clinical medicine, equipping future clinicians with the physiological foundation essential to sound medical practice.

Oxford DPAG houses the Burdon Sanderson Cardiac Science & Integrative Physiology Centre, the Kavli Institute for NanoScience Discovery, the Centre for Integrative Neuroscience, and the Institute of Developmental and Regenerative Medicine. Cambridge PDN hosts the Loke Centre for Trophoblast Research. These are not merely "labs" — they are mission-driven research centres.
